Broadway, Manhattan, NY

A survey on Broadway was designed to map conduits carrying electric transmission lines into downtown Manhattan. The 3D image revealed a series of unexpected lateral structures in the trench, which turned out to be metal I-beam supports for the old Broadway trolley. These large metal objects close to the transmission lines have probably contributed to rapid corrosion of this section of the lines. WTI's 3D images can help pinpoint the locations for point repairs and identify the source of problems.
